Mar 15.........For an effective date of 4/1/14
Mar 31.........For an effective date of 5/1/14
After March 31st, you can only buy a new ACA-compliant policy if you have a Special Enrollment exception...like:
- Losing a job
- Losing a dependent
- Adding a dependent (having a baby, getting married)
- Moving to a new rating (pricing) area (a new county or state)
- Losing your old policy (except for voluntary terminations of coverage)
- Other special exceptions defined by the ACA law
